“For their first visit onto French territory, the 2015 FEI European Para-Dressage Championships were a real triumph and the Handi Equi’ Compet association is proud to have succeeded in concluding this challenging project. 

I would like to warmly thank the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) and the French Equestrian Federation (FFE) for awarding us the organisation of these championships, and without whom, nothing would have been possible.

The 72 competitors from 20 different European nations is a reflection of the positive outcome of this Normandy edition, as were the succession of sporting performances throughout these three days of intense competition!

Our team invested hugely in order to welcome the athletes in the best conditions possible, placing a particular emphasis on the quality and conviviality of the event. Everything was perfectly orchestrated and a great atmosphere reigned at Deauville’s Pôle International du Cheval. But this triumph could not have happened without the support of our sponsors, our partners and the local authorities, as well as our 50 volunteers whose unfailingly helpfulness and commitment is exemplary.
My thanks also go to the entire Organising Committee and the officials for the high standard that was brought to these championships through their expertise.

A page has turned today, to make way for other big para-equestrian events, 2016 is of course an Olympic year and all the riders qualified will be heading to Latin America for the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games.
You are also cordially invited to the Deauville CPEDI*** which will be taking place on the 8th, 9th, and 10th of April next year, an event for which preparations are already under way.

These athletes offer, at each competition, a lesson in courage and determination which serves as an example to us all. Yet again bear witness to their accomplishments next year at Deauville’s CPEDI ! ”
