The Deauville CPEDI*** : French exceptionalism !

The International Para-Equestrian Dressage Competition (CPEDI) of Deauville is back for the 11th time from the 31th March to the 3rd of April 2023, at the Pôle International du Cheval Longines - Deauville

A real rehearsal for big international dates, like the European Championship at Riesenbeck being held this year from the 4th to 10th of September 2023 but also Paris 2024 Paralympics Games, the CPEDI*** of Deauville every year welcomes the World elite in the discipline. Para-equestrian dressage riders, classified from Grade 1 to Grade V depending on their degree of impairment, take advantage of this rendezvous to compete against other international competitors. Stars of the discipline such Great Britain’s Sophie Wells, multi-medallist Lee Pearson, or the Latvian Rihards Snikus have been faithful to this event for a number of years. The home nation, France, is expected to send their entire team which includes experienced riders like Vladimir Vinchon, Céline Gerny, Anne-Frédérique Royon, Cloé Mislin but equally the young Chiara Zenati who performed well at Tokyo. In addition to benefiting from experienced couples, the French staff will be able to take advantage of this opportunity to test the latest arrivals on the circuit, who undoubtedly represent the future.

Three days, during which the horse and rider combinations will oppose each other in three different classes: the Team-test,  the Individual Championship and the Freestyle. The results of first two classes, the Team-Test and the Individual Championship test, will determine the outcome of the Nations Cup, in which Great Britain have remained unbeaten for the last eight years. The week-end will come to a flourishing finish with the Freestyle (to music), where only the best performing riders in the event take the start.
